The closest airport is “Fontanarossa” in Catania (at about 45 km from Taormina). There are weekly flights from many European cities and daily connections from Rome, Milan, Naples, Bologna, etc. Furthermore, many travel agencies organize (especially from spring to autumn) charter flights. From the Fontanarossa airport in Catania it is possibile to reach Taormina by bus. A direct Etnatrasporti Line bus , via highway, from the airport of Catania to Taormina takes about 60 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport or on board. Bus stop just outside the airport building.
